WHAT HAPPENS EACH DAY?
Everyday there will be tutoring in the morning followed by painting in either the Grand Studio, grounds or surrounding countryside. During the week we will take you to local bastide towns such as Eymet and Monpazier to draw and paint. We eat lunch at the Manoir, picnic in the wonderful French countryside or have lunch out in the beautiful villages.
WILL I HAVE SOME FREE TIME?
Wednesday afternoon is free – there is a range of activities we can arrange for you as an extra add on – yoga, electric cycles, wine tasting or you can simply relax by the outdoor pool.
HOW WILL I SPEND MY EVENINGS?
We eat dinner together most evenings either at the manoir or, during the season, at local night markets. On the last night, Friday, a visit to the Old Lord Raglan pub for a live music experience to complete your amazing week with us. (Please note our sessions may vary slightly depending on the month’s events here in France).

It’s not just artists who can enjoy Maison du Fort, we cater for groups of friends or family on a two or three night relaxing French getaway.
Maybe a weekend of good food, good wine and good company is required? Just spending quality time enjoying the beautiful manoir, it’s grounds and exploring the surrounding countryside and Bastide villages of the Dordogne is heaven.
Make your stay unique and bespoke to your group’s needs by arranging a selection of add-on activities and places to go. A traditional local market visit? A chateau wine tour? A yoga class? Horse riding? A fun art class or cycle ride through the sunflowers are just some of the options available. Or just kick back and enjoy lazing by our fabulous outdoor pool.
Bed and Breakfast is included but extra evening meals or lunches can be added to make your stay a little more bespoke.
We offer collection transfers from Bergerac airport or Marmande train station (if you are flying into Bordeaux airport). Please see our getting there page for further detail. During your stay we can provide a taxi transfer service on trips out for a small extra cost.
We can accommodate up to 6 guests with three shared luxury bathrooms.
We welcome you into the manoir, which is a family run home shared with two cats, Ellie and Mia and Pip the dog. Maison du Fort is still being refreshed into the Grand Duchess she used to be and therefore your stay will be homely but exciting as you will see the next stage of the house being lovingly restored.
